Selena Gomez's stepdad has created a GoFundMe page to help the family of slain Voice star Christina Grimmie - and it has pulled in more than $100,000 in just a day.
Brian Teefey, who was also the singer's manager, described Grimmie - who was shot dead after a concert in Orlando, Florida, Friday night - as being 'like a second daughter' on the page.
He had hoped to raise $4,000 - but within 24 hours some 4,178 donors smashed that goal, bringing in a massive $104,842.
Words cannot begin to describe the pain I am feeling,' Teefey - who married Gomez's mother in 2006 - said in theGoFundMe page.
'All I wanted to do was assist (Grimmie) in achieving her musical dreams while protecting her from the pitfalls associated with the business. I never could have imagined this horrific event being one of the pitfalls needing to be avoided.'
He added that Grimmie's family - including her brother Mark who tackled her shooter during the attack, stopping him from killing anyone else - had sacrificed everything for her success, and he wanted to support them in their time of need.
'Grimms I love you, and miss you beyond comprehension,' Teefey added.
